Discover Scuba Diving in Placencia with PADI
Experience the underwater world with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program! While this isn’t a certification course, it’s the perfect way to try scuba diving for the first time under the guidance of a PADI-certified Instructor or Dive Master. You can repeat the experience as often as you like!
At Splash Dive Center, we offer a unique DSD experience that includes:
- Shallow Water Skills Training: Start your journey in the shallow waters of a stunning Belizean caye, where you’ll learn key diving skills.
- First Dive from the Caye: After mastering the basics, enjoy a short dive in the clear waters near the caye.
- Boat Dive on the Belize Barrier Reef: After a delicious lunch on the caye, head out for an unforgettable boat dive on the world-famous Belize Barrier Reef.
We maintain a low student-to-instructor ratio—just 2 students per instructor—to ensure safety and give you the personal attention you deserve.
What to Expect from Your Discover Scuba Experience
- A thorough briefing on water pressure, underwater communication, and equipment safety.
- Shallow water practice where you’ll master basic skills like clearing your mask, recovering your regulator, and controlling buoyancy.
- Your first open water dive in deeper waters, led by an experienced Splash Dive Center instructor.
- A dive boat excursion to explore the vibrant coral and marine life of Belize’s Barrier Reef after lunch.
Who Can Join
This experience is open to anyone 10 years or older, provided you have no adverse medical conditions. You’ll need to complete a Medical Questionnaire before diving, and if you answer “yes” to any questions, you must have the form signed by a doctor.
